Sewer Line Repair and Replacement, Install Cleanout, and Defect Location
Serving Dallas – Ft.Worth (DFW) Metroplex including Highland Park and University Park
Levy & Son plumbers can detect, locate, and repair broken underground sanitary and storm sewer drain piping. With the aid of video cameras and electronic line locating equipment, we can pinpoint the problem area, whether under a concrete foundation or parking area or in an accessible underground exterior location. We will access the defective piping and perform repairs using the best quality materials available.
In most municipalities, cleanouts were not a requirement until the early 1970s. With the location of the sewer lines known, we can professionally install cleanouts on these older drain lines. Properly sized cleanouts will enable our drain technicians to thoroughly clean the sewer line with electric rotary machines using full-sized blades, which scrape the interior walls of the drain line. This type of drain cleaning is not as effective when accessing the line from the roof vents. Cleanouts located at the exterior grade also may provide relief from the water escaping into the house if a stoppage occurs.
Older exterior underground sanitary sewer lines were manufactured from bituminized fiber, referred to as Orangeburg pipe, made from layers of wood pulp and hot pitch pressed together. After many years of service, this piping deteriorates layer by layer and the weight of the soil crushes it flat. Clay tile pipe and cement based pipe were also older types of products that would hold up to the weight of the soil, but roots will penetrate the joints and over time, the result is frequent stoppages.
Are you regularly spending money to unstop an old sewer line? Why not consider replacing that old, deteriorated line with a new PVC line? When PVC piping is properly installed, roots cannot penetrate the joints. Levy & Son can provide a proposal to replace that old sewer line in compliance with the plumbing code. You may never need to unstop that line again.
