Slab Leak

Slab Leak Location, Static Sewer Testing, Isolation, and Potable Water Pressure Testing

Serving Dallas – Ft.Worth (DFW) Metroplex including Higland Park and University Park

Levy & Son employs highly skilled, experienced, licensed professional plumbing crews with video cameras, line tracking equipment, listening devices, and sound magnification equipment plus other resources available for tracing and locating almost any type of piping below ground, concrete, or other paved surface to find concealed leaks. Both sanitary sewer and potable water piping leak detection and location can be performed on most types of building structures. A static test is performed on the sanitary sewer system by temporarily plugging the building sewer, filling the line with water, and monitoring the level. If the water level drops, indicating a leak, an isolation process is performed with the use of a camera and plugging sections and/or branches of the system while monitoring levels. Testing of the water supply system is performed by pressurizing the system, temporarily turning off the water supply source, and monitoring the pressure gauge. If a loss of pressure is indicated, isolation is performed with compressed air, sound detection equipment, line tracing equipment, and water pressure. Depth of the piping and thickness of the concrete foundation are critical factors in the difficulty that is sometimes encountered in the process of locating the leak and making the necessary repairs.

These services are beneficial if you experience frequent drain stoppages, foundation problems, high water bills, or if you hear the sound of running water when no faucets are on and no toilet has been flushed. Any time a foundation company prepares to repair foundation damage, these described tests are recommended both before and after the foundation work has been performed.
