Toilet Repair and Installation
Serving Dallas – Ft.Worth (DFW) Metroplex including Highland Park and University Park
Toilet installation can be a homeowner’s worst nightmare if not performed correctly. Levy & Son plumbers have corrected many defective installs performed by tile setters, handymen and even homeowners. The toilet must set correctly on a properly installed drain flange. The most common error is when a customer installs new ceramic tile in place of vinyl but does not raise the flange. The toilet is installed with a double seal and/or extensions to attempt to make up the gap between the flange and toilet. This may work for a short time but begins to leak with no signs till it is too late. Then an odor is present, wood becomes discolored and grout stained. Levy & Son takes no short cuts. We make sure the flange is at proper height, secured to floor, shut off valve replaced if needed and toilet installed with new supplies for a worry free professional installation.
Is your toilet causing your water bills to be higher than usual? Toilets are one of the greatest contributors in water loss. A simple test will tell. Place a few drops of food coloring or a toilet dye tablet in the toilet tank. Let it set for about 10 to 15 minutes. If the water in the bowl begins to change colors then the ball, flapper or entire flush valve is defective and repairs are required.
Levy and Son has the experience, knowledge and resources to handle these scenarios as well as the more complex plumbing repair needs. We have access to even the hardest to find parts for older toilets.
Need a toilet installed soon? Levy and Son can furnish and install a new American Standard, Kohler, or brand of your choice promptly, sometimes same day. With so many toilets to choose from, many customers shop and purchase them from a local supply. Levy and Son will gladly pick up, deliver and professionally install customer furnished fixtures. Don’t forget the seat.
Our professionals can provide sound advice to determine if a toilet is worth the cost of plumbing repair or if replacement is a better solution. Quality and age of your existing toilet are significant factors to consider. Newer models feature 1.6 gallons per flush, which over time, will save enough water to pay for itself.
