When the federal law governing water consumption for toilets changed in the early 1990s mandating 1.6 gallons per flush from 3.5+ gallons per flush, most plumbing professionals were skeptical and said to them, “This will not work”. For several years, the newly designed toilets did not work very well, frequently stopping up. Over the past 15 years, the toilet manufacturers have improved the design and the low water consumption toilets have proven to be very effective in conserving one of our most precious resources. We will make certain of the condition of the existing flange, that it is properly secured, and that it is at the proper elevation. Upon completion of the toilet installation, we will make any necessary adjustments to ensure the toilet is operating properly. We will also be sure the work area is left as clean as when we arrived.

Shower heads and faucet aerators can also contribute to a large volume of water consumption. Newer water saving shower heads and aerators help reduce the amount of water used helping to save money.
