Backflow Prevention
Backflow Prevention
No one wants contaminated water in their water supply. Water safety is regulated by Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission and each city strictly enforces regulations with the use of double checks, air gaps, vacuum breakers and reduced pressure zone assemblies to name a few.
Residential sprinkler systems generally have a double check assembly. Levy and Son can install an adequate sized double check on your system within a valve box at proper level with pea gravel in bottom, a separate shut off valve and strainer for protection. We can test and register your new or old device with the city.
Residential air gaps are present on dishwasher drains located on sink top near faucet. These devices are an eye sore and fail frequently. They are easily replaced by removing mounting nut and hose connections.
A reduced pressure zone assembly is installed where high risk of cross connection exist, mostly commercial properties. Levy and Son can properly install, test and register assembly in almost any location. A drain must be installed to a suitable location if within a structure. Freeze Protection provided where exposed with various types of hot boxes. Some even look like rocks.
A backflow device is used to protect our water supply from contamination or pollution. Many types of backflow prevention devices also have test valves so they can be tested or examined to ensure that they are functioning properly.
Levy & Son can repair, replace or perform tests and certification on your backflow device. It is very important to make sure your backflow device is working properly to protect the health of your family and your neighbors.
Many cities require that you have your backflow device tested yearly, if relocated or repaired and when installed.
