Sump Pumps
Sump Pumps and Area Water Removal
Some pier and beam foundation houses with poor grading around the house allow water to enter beneath the house. This causes a moisture issue. Or some areas around your property may hold water after a heavy rain. If there is no way to remove the water by grading dirt away from house or with gravity piping to a lower area a sump pump install is a alternate solution.
An adequate sized pump can be installed within a perforated container surrounded with filter cloth and rock installed to remove the unwanted water to another suitable location for proper run off. Discharge piping can be PVC, cast iron or even copper and run to a desired location many feet away.
Whether your pump is located on the interior or exterior of the structure, if it is not discharging the water, the results can be devastating. Over time, debris can accumulate in the impeller or in the pump basin, causing pump failure. We can determine if the pump needs to be replaced or if routine cleaning is the solution.
