Water Heater Circulation Systems

No water heater can get hot water to a fixture faster than another. To reduce the time it takes for hot water to reach a fixture, Levy and Son installs customized circulation systems. These systems attach to the hot water supply lines farthest from the water heater and pipe the water directly from the heater with the aid of a pump. This system circulates water from the heater and back again, resulting in minimum wait time. Although it is easier to install a circulation system during home construction, it can also be accomplished relatively easily on pier and beam foundation homes.In slab homes, post-construction circulation system installation is not an option. Instead, a recirculation pump and thermostatic bypass can be installed to move hot water into the cold line, until the temperature reaches roughly 95 degrees. Once the water reaches the specified temperature, it stops, so hot water is available more quickly.
